Good evening and welcome to tonight's performance of "It is Well with My Soul" at the Dormston Mill Theatre. We are delighted to welcome you to our world premiere production of this new musical! Gareth Hides - Philip Bliss
With Saltmine Theatre Company: The Cross and the Switchblade (UK tour and Edinburgh Fringe), From Eden to Eternity, Three Wise Men and a Baby, The Hope Play and ESCape (TIE). Other credits include: West End to Broadway and Swing Through Time (Copthorne Hotel, Cardiff); Dick Whittington (The Panto Company). Short films: Journey into Hope (ECM) and Born Identity (Keswick Convention).
Gareth is also a Gospel singer-songwriter, releasing two albums and four EPs. You can stream his music on all major platforms. |
Katrina Markham - Lucy Bliss
Katrina is a 2021 Graduate from Italia Conti Academy. At Italia Conti, she played Connie in Made In Dagenham and Kathy in 9 TO 5.
Katrina’s credits include: Claudia in Centurion (Artless Theatre Company); Martha Cratchit in A Christmas Carol (West End Has Faith & All Souls); Vocalist in West End Has Faith’s Concert Tour; Sleeping Beauty, Carabosse, Queen Shiela in Sleeping Beauty (West Midlands Children’s Theatre) and Ratty, Chief Wiesel, and other characters in Wind in the Willows (Image Musical Theatre). Matthew J. Sunners - George Root
Matt trained at the University of Central Lancashire (BA Hons Acting). Previous theatre credits include: Christian in ‘The Pilgrim's Progress’, Subject in ‘The screwtape letters’, and Israel in ‘The Cross & the switchblade’ (all with Saltmine Theatre Company).
He has also previously worked with the Lacey Theatre Company as well as Splendid Productions on their national tour of Antigone. Matt is married to Bethan and they have 3 children: Hallie, Edward & Jake. They live in Dunstable where Matt works as a pilot for EasyJet. |
Richard Mellion - DL Moody
Richard graduated from Italia Conti (BA Hons Acting) in 2016. Credits whilst training include: Ronald in Port, Sheriff Pokorny in Vernon god little, George Frederic Handel in Coram Boy and Dromio in Comedy of Errors (Wanamaker Festival at the Globe).
Previous Theatre credits include Mr. Bumble in Oliver (Ed Fringe), Governor Slaton in Parade, Mr. Sheinkopf in Fame, Fredrick Egerman in A Little Night Music, Peter in Theophilus and most recently John in a touring production of Fisherman’s Tail. Richard is delighted to be originating the role of D.L Moody in this wonderful production. |
Mark Baker - Walter Guest
Mark has been singing professionally for over 15 years, starting his career in some of the UK's largest holiday parks as a lead vocalist, before moving on to musical theatre. His roles include: the Beast in Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Fredrick in Prates of Penzance, Sky in Guys and Dolls, and a featured vocalist in Songs from the Shows series of concerts, featuring a 40-piece orchestra.
Mark has most recently been touring the UK and cruise ships as part of the male vocal harmony group, The Basetones. Offstage Mark is busy working as a Musical Director and singing teacher for various productions and schools. |
Joy-Anna Gooch - Clara Young
Joy-Anna is on her gap year and is excited to be making her professional debut as Clara. She is studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama on the Junior Acting course (2020-current). Projects at Guildhall include: Romeo & Juliet, Blood Wedding, The Power of Darkness, among others. She is also working with a West End theatre director and on film sets for programmes such as The Crown and The Witcher, alongside less glamorous jobs like selling corn in supermarkets. In her spare time she loves playing piano, travelling and spending time with special people in her life including her 7-year-old brother, Ezra.

Arjan Binnema - Ira Sankey
Arjan was born in the Netherlands and moved to the UK 5 years ago. He studied at music college, specialising in piano and songwriting. Alongside this, he’s performed as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Cheltenham Playhouse). Arjan works as a worship pastor at a church in Witney and studies theology at University. He enjoys using all these things to bring glory to God.

Sarah Hides - BSL Interpreter
Sarah has been a BSL Interpreter for over 20 years. Her musical theatre credits include: Cats (West End and UK tour); Legally Blonde, Shrek the Musical, Chicago, the Sound of Music, Flashdance the Musical, and Cabaret (all UK tours). Other theatre includes: Goodnight Mister Tom and Birds of a Feather (both UK tours). Other credits include: Strictly Come Dancing: The Live Tour, Disney on Ice (both UK tours); George Ezra, Ellie Goulding (both 02 Arena); the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and the King's Coronation Concert.
